JD10 million allocated to stimulate industrial sector

AMMAN — The Parliamentary Finance Committee held a meeting on Thursday to discuss a draft law that is an extension of the General Budget Law for the 2021 financial year. اضافة اعلان

The meeting was headed by representative Nimr Al-Sleihat, who received a briefing from the minister of industry and trade, Maha Ali, the minister of digital economy and entrepreneurship, Ahmad Al-Hanandeh, and the director general of social security, Hazem Al-Rahahleh, among others.

Sleihat said that the meeting centered on mechanisms for disbursing financial allocations.

Regarding stimulating the industrial sector, Maha Ali stated that an amount of JD10 million was allocated.

Ali added that a portion of the fund was devoted to temporary employment with the aim of helping fresh graduates find jobs.

For his part, Ahmad Al-Hanandeh stated that jobs for young people in the field of information technology were announced following the pandemic, where an amount of JD20 million was allocated to supplement salaries.

He explained that young workers receive a monthly salary of 400 dinars (half of which is from the program). Hanandeh noted that these jobs may also become permanent if the worker proves competence.

Citing the Estidama 3 program, Hazem Al-Rahahleh said that it was launched in the year 2020 with the aim of sustaining Jordanian labor and employing 105,000 workers in sectors most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
He added that the total amount disbursed was JD17 million per month.
