AMMAN — A JD100 million solar cell factory for the
production of solar panels will be launched southeast of the
Queen Alia International Airport later this year, it was announced at a panel discussion
at the Dead Sea.

The facility, as part of the semiconductor industry, is a
Jordanian investment and will be built on an area of 130 dunums, and is
expected to create 520 job opportunities.
The
Dead Sea government-held forum comes a year after the
launch of the national economic and public sector modernization vision.
