JD30m allocated for Chief Islamic Justice in 2023 budget draft law

AMMAN — The government has allocated JD30 million to the Chief Islamic Justice in the 2023 general budget draft law, an increase of nearly JD3 million from the re-estimation for the fiscal year 2022, Khaberni reported. Last year’s Chief Islamic Justice allocation stood at JD27.458 million. The allocation was divided into current expenditures (JD29.4 million) and capital expenditures (around JD1 million). ‏ The difference in allocation is partly due to renting a new building for the Sweileh Sharia Court and the maintenance costs.
