AMMAN — The
E-Fawateercom
online payment system has recorded bill payment transactions worth JD837
million in September, according to recent data released by the Jordan Central
Bank, according to Al Ghad News.

The amount
includes bills paid by subscribers to public sector services, including electricity
and water, and other government services.
The amount paid
via the online payment platform saw an increase of JD148 million from the same
period last year, when only JD689 million were paid by citizens and residents
via the platform for myriad services. This year saw a rise of 22 percent in the
amount paid through E-Ffawateercom in September.
A total of 3.06
million separate bills were paid via the online payment system in September
alone, compared to 2.14 million bills in September last year.
E-Fawateeercom is
a bill payment service supported by the Jordan Central Bank, which connects
banks operating in Jordan with bill-based entities to facilitate bills payment
through a number of channels including ATMs, Internet banking, and cell phone.
