Foodstuff Traders Association (FTA) and Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) discussed mechanisms to streamline procedures and speed up completion of transactions to secure food commodities during the holy month of Ramadan.اضافة اعلان

According to a FTA statement Saturday, JFDA Director General Dr. Nizar Mhidat, instructed to increase inspection committees, lab testing teams and working hours at Jordan's customs centers to maintain and accelerate flow of food commodities "smoothly and without delay."

During the meeting, Mhidat stressed the JFDA's commitment to enhancing flow of goods and products to the local market "without any obstacles," and simplify procedures for Jordan's food traders and importers, especially with the approach of Ramadan.

‎Mhidat noted JFDA values "remarkable" role played by food importers and traders in providing food and basic commodities in the local market nonstop , which contributes to enhancing the Kingdom's security and strategic stock.

Referring to the JFDA's multiple field tours to Jordan's food establishments, he said this effort is part of its "strategic" action plan to enhance partnership with various sectors concerned with food import operations and address their demands, in accordance with instructions and regulations in place.

Meanwhile, FTA head, Khalil Haj Tawfiq, stressed "keenness" of Jordan's food trade sector to provide a "strategic" stock of food and basic materials in the local market throughout the year, especially Ramadan items.
