AMMAN — The Jordan Food and Drug
Administration (JFDA) issued Sunday an bulletin with guidelines on how to
safely deal with certain drugs, according to Al-Ghad News. The statement
coincided with the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit
Trafficking, which falls on June 26.

The bulletin warns against taking any sedative,
psychotropic, and narcotic drugs without referring to a specialized doctor,
because doing so could cause addiction. The JFDA also urged avoiding taking
medication after required and urged against increasing dosages, prolonging the
period of use, or using alternative medicines without consulting the doctor.
