AMMAN — Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) has launched procedures to pull out and suspend trading Trifecta GT
valve, a specialized artificial heart valve, meant to replace aortic values.
In a statement on Thursday, JFDA director
general, Nizar Mheidat, said the step, was taken in conjunction with the
manufacturer’s decision and United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA)’s
warning of potential complications on the patient's health, Jordan News Agency
Petra reported.
These measures come as a continuation of
JFDA's keenness to take the "maximum" control and preventive measures
to ensure that medical supplies in Jordan's market meet the "highest"
technical specifications and standards of safety and effectiveness, according
to a JFDA statement.
