AMMAN - The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) decided on Thursday to reduce the prices of 90 drug types by 10 to 20 percent, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

In a statement,
JFDA Director-General Nizar Mheidat said that the reduction was primarily aimed at the most commonly used drugs, such as blood pressure, diabetes and osteoporosis drugs, the prices of which are normally to the tune of JD20-50.
He added that the administration, under a periodic review of drug prices in the local market, will soon seek to lower the prices of other drug groups to enhance drug security and provide treatment at affordable prices.
