AMMAN — Director-General of the
Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) Nizar Al-Mhaidat stressed that there is no
shortage of medicines, and that the country’s pharmaceutical stock covers the
needs of the local market for a period of four to six months, depending on the
type of medicines, a local media outlet reported.

Mhaidat added that in case of any indicator of shortage
of a pharmaceutical item, the administration takes prompt precautionary
measures to ensure the supply of medicines to the Jordanian market, including
coordinating with local factories and motivating them to manufacture any drug
that may be in short supply, as well as simplifying import procedures.
