AMMAN — Director-General of the
Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) Nizar Mheidat said
the prices of 90 common medicines was reduced by 10-20 percent, including for diabetes,
blood pressure, and osteoporosis, according to local media outlet.

The
prices of the medicines whose prices went down range from JD20 to JD50,
according to Mheidat who said on Thursday that JFDA seeks to reduce the prices
of more medicines in the upcoming period, as part of a regular plan to check prices.
Besides
providing medicines at affordable prices, the JFDA plan aims to enhance food
security. So far, the prices of 360 types of medicine were reduced.
