JFDA shuts down 67 food facilities for violating standards

AMMAN — In a recent crackdown, Jordan's Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) inspection teams have closed down 67 food facilities and suspended 313 others from working due to violations of health requirements and standards of food preparation, presentation, storage, and safety of production of foodstuffs.اضافة اعلان

Inspection rounds during RamadanSince the start of the fasting month of Ramadan, the administration's supervisory teams have carried out 5,800 inspection rounds throughout the Kingdom, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The JFDA Director-General Nizar Muhaidat noted that the inspection teams have destroyed over 60,000kg of food that violated health requirements and were prepared in poor health conditions.

They also disposed of over 5,000 liters of liquid food and more than 22,000 liters of Ramadan juices while seizing about 265,000kg of food from markets for laboratory testing purposes.

Continued monitoringThe JFDA is continuing to implement its monitoring and awareness campaign for Ramadan, aiming to intensify follow-up to ensure establishments adhere to health requirements and standards of food preparation.
