AMMAN — The Jordan Food and Drug
Administration (JFDA) on Saturday stressed that it will not allow the entry and
use of any quantities of food, wheat and barley until laboratory results prove
that the food is free of chlorine, according to Jo24.

It said the move was in compliance with the
technical rules, and results prove that they are fit for human consumption.
The JFDA said that it took comprehensive samples of
wheat and barley stored in the Aqaba silos to ensure that they are free from
chlorine, following the port accident late in June.
The results of the examination were reassuring, the JFDA
said, adding that the silo samples were free of any trace of chlorine.
