Amman - A 50-truck humanitarian aid convoy crossed from Jordan Tuesday heading to the Gaza Strip, the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) said.

The new relief aid was dispatched by the Jordan Armed Forces - Arab Army and JHCO in partnership with the World Food Program (WFP), and with support from the Contractors Syndicate, Bayus and Anera organizations, the Bulgarian embassy, ??Rawabi Farah and other donors, according to a JHCO statement.
The trucks carried food parcels, flour, mattresses, blankets, health parcels and blood units, to be distributed to the people in Gaza through societies, partner organizations and hospitals operating in the Strip, said the statement.
JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli said a refrigerator and blood donations were sent to hospitals due to an acute shortage of blood units.
Jordanian efforts are continuing with all means to bring in and deliver aid to our people in the northern Gaza Strip, in particular, and the rest of the Gaza Strip, he said.
He said a total of 2,373 aid trucks have entered Gaza along with 53 relief aircraft via Al-Arish Airport.
