AMMAN — The Jordan Media Commission (JMC)
imposed a cinema ban on the movie “Thor: Love and Thunder” due to the presence
of gay characters, the commission said in a statement, carried by Jo24 on
Saturday.
According to a JMC statement, the movie was banned from
all theaters and stores in the Kingdom due to four scenes that include “homosexual
dialogue”. The ban was based on provisions of the Audiovisual Literature System
and its Monitoring No. 63 of 2004 and its amendments.
Multiple Arab countries have banned the movie, including
Bahrain and Kuwait.
“Thor: Love and Thunder” is the fourth installment of the
Thor Marvel saga. According to AFP, the film trailed the top of North America’s
box office before being toppled this week by the horror flick “Nope”.
