Minister of Health Dr. Firas Hawari
inaugurated remotely on Thursday, the 20th International Conference of the
Jordanian Oncology Society (JOS) at Jordan Medical Association (JMA), with
local, Arab and foreign participation.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Hawari said Jordan has
made successes in the tumor treatment, adding that its key interest aims to
provide the necessary health services to cancer patients particularly during
the Covid-19 pandemic.
The conference activities will be "inspiring and
rich," he said, adding that related working papers and tumor-based
scientific research, diagnosis and treatment will enrich the experience.
Also speaking was JOS's director at JMA, Dr. Sami Khatib,
who said oncology has witnessed a "remarkable" revolution in
important scientific research during the past two decades, as physicians have
an "accurate" knowledge of disease causes, adding that a set of
"important" medicines have been produced accordingly.
For his part, head of the conference's scientific committee,
Dr. Samir Yasser, said the event provides 16 medical educational hours and will
discuss 54 lectures presented by "distinguished" university faculty.
Some 1,250 doctors attend the three-day conference from
Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Lebanon, Tunisia, Morocco, the United States,
Britain, Germany, Belgium, Algeria and Sudan, representing various medical
sectors, according to a JOS statement.
