AMMAN — The head of the Jordan Press Association's (JPA) elections committee, Mohammad Al-Tal, announced on Friday that the polling rate exceeded 80 percent, five hours after the election's beginning, according to Al-Ghad News.

In remarks he made to local media outlets, Tal indicated that the voting turnout is great and that its flow is going well, announcing that the president's name is expected to be announced at nine pm.
"We have not received any complaints on the voting process so far," he said.
The JPA began opening the ballot boxes at 11 am, in front of the plenary, for the selection of representatives in the upcoming council.
In a meeting on Friday, the plenary approved the administrative and financial reports of the JPA.
The JPA's recommendation to the plenary also included conducting an actuarial study on the cooperation and funding of social security and amending the system based on the results. The plenary also approved the King Hussein Award for Excellence in Journalism.
