AMMAN — The chairman of the board of directors at the
Jordan Post Company (JPC), Sami Al-Dawood, stated that the post office has issued
6,000 passports to
Jerusalem residents since the introduction of this service
on July 15, 2022. He also mentioned that the total number of services provided
to
Jerusalem residents since 2019 has exceeded 70,000 transactions.

Dawood said that post offices have completed 5,161
activations of digital identity using iris scans in cooperation with the
Ministry of Digital Economy since July 8, 2022, Addustour reported.
JPC activities
The total number of parcels transacted through the JPC in
the first half of 2023 reached 1,119,963, distributed as 670,946 external
parcels and 449,017 internal parcels.
Dawood emphasized that the
Jordan Post is working on
expanding its services by expanding financial inclusion services and
cooperating with private sector companies to increase capacity and improve the
quality of services provided to customers.
The company is also implementing the
Prime Minister's directive to exclusively handle shipments weighing less than 31kg, in addition
to expanding cooperation with the government sector and extending its services
in e-commerce, express mail, and parcels.
