The rehabilitation is to ensure that the company’s
facilities conform to the
American Petroleum Institute standard No. 653, which
covers the inspection, repair, alteration, and reconstruction of steel
aboveground storage tanks used in the petroleum and chemical industries.
A study for a project to increase the JMPC’s phosphoric acid
plant’s production capacity from 900 to 1,500 tonnes per day, allowing it to
export the acid and use it to produce DAP fertilizer, is nearly completed,
according to JPMC Chairman Muhammad Al-Thneibat, who visited the complex on
Monday.
