AMMAN —
Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC) launched
the second phase of the Gypsum Mountain greening project at its industrial
complex in Aqaba, Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

This phase involves planting 20,000 trees as
part of a larger project to plant a total of 50,000 forest and fruit trees in
stages, transforming the area into an attraction and public park for the
local community and visitors.
During the inauguration ceremony, Chairman
of the Board of Directors of JPMC, Mohammad Al-Thnaibat emphasized that the
project aligns with the royal vision of environmental protection and promoting
Aqaba as a tourist destination and industrial hub.
Thnaibat highlighted the company's efforts to diversify
products, transition to manufacturing industries, and expand globally while
prioritizing environmental sustainability. He pledged support for development
projects in the southern port city and announced new
JPMC projects in Aqaba,
expected to create approximately 1,200 job opportunities.
These projects include a phosphoric acid
factory costing JD400 million, a partnership with the
Arab Potash Company (APC)
to produce new fertilizers, a phosphoric acid plant, and a factory for
phosphate feed additives.
