AMMAN —
The Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO) on Monday released a statement saying that tires
for cars, buses, and light-duty trucks that have been stored for more than
three years from their manufacturing date are prohibited from being marketed or
sold, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

This is the first rule
regulating the sale of unused tires. The Public Security Directorate on July 6
said that 40 percent of accidents in Jordan involve defective or expired tires.
