AMMAN — President of the
University of Jordan (JU) Nazir Obeidat discussed Tuesday with South Korean Ambassador to
Jordan Lee Jae-wan ways to strengthen
cooperation between the university and the embassy, according to Al-Ghad News.

Obeidat said that
the university is concerned with developing and strengthening its strategic
partnership and benefiting from international expertise in all fields, pointing
to the possibility of cooperation in the field of public health programs and
public policies, through the National Institute to be established at the
university for this purpose, and expressed appreciation for the support
provided by the
Korean government to the university over the years.
JU Vice President
Zaid Eyadat called for increasing
the number of Korean students studying at the university and opening more
prospects for cooperation between Jordan University and Korean universities,
especially in training students in digital technology.
JU Chancellor
Institutional Performance and Strategic Planning Rami Ali requested a renewal
of the full scholarships that used to be granted by the South Korean government
to outstanding students to pursue doctoral studies in South Korea.
The meeting was attended by the attaché at the South Korean
Embassy, Chang Ji-hoon, the director of the International Affairs Unit at the
university, Hadeel Yasseen, and by the assistant to the vice president for
international affairs, accreditation and quality affairs Sheera Mahasneh.
