AMMAN —
According to the
Times Higher Education (THE) ranking of Arab universities for
2022, the University of Jordan (JU)
ranked first out of 14 Jordanian universities and 21st out of 169 Arab
universities, Al-Ghad News reported.

JU President Nathir
Obiedat said that the university has occupied advanced ranks in various
international evaluations, including its ranking for the first time among 1,000
international universities in the Shanghai World Rankings, and its five-star
(excellent) rating by the UK’s QS Foundation.
Representing the
JU, Vice President of Accreditation and Quality Assurance Inaam Khalaf, and
Director of the university’s Quality Assurance Center Mansour Al-Matarana
attended the annual THE summit “Transforming Learning for a Sustainable
Future”. The meeting concluded on Wednesday in Kuwait, during which the results
of the ranking was announced.
The THE ranking of
Arab universities adopts the same
criteria as the Basic World Classification of Universities, which evaluates
education, scientific research, citation of scientific research, community, and
the university’s global image.
