AMMAN — Chairman of
Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) Khaled Salem and President of Canadian Memorial University of Newfoundland
Vianne Timmons signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance joint
cooperation in the academic and research fields, according to the Jordan News
Agency, Petra.

Under Sunday’s memorandum, the two universities will exchange students, faculty
members, research activities and hold specialized training programs, in
addition to launching joint alumni supervision.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Salem said JUST always seeks to strengthen
its research partnerships with international universities to develop multiple-discipline
programs, indicating that the university has a "distinguished"
environment and infrastructure for scientific research in its several
scientific centers.
JUST also has an "advanced" university hospital, active partners from
the local community, and qualified faculty members, he noted.
Timmons lauded JUST's "distinguished" level and progress in
international rankings, which match prestigious world universities.
Chairperson of Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher
Education Institutions Dhafer Al-Sarayrah expressed pride in the
"advanced" level of Jordanian academic institutions, pointing out
that the Kingdom's education policy is "open" to international
scientific and research centers.
Canadian Ambassador Donica Petit stressed the "deep-rooted,
distinguished" Jordanian-Canadian relations in the various fields and at
all levels.
