AMMAN — The
Jordan Valley Authority (JVA) has successfully
transferred floodwaters from the Wadi Shuaib Dam to the King Abdullah Canal in
the south, according to Ammon News.

Eighty-five percent of the 3.4km conveyor pipeline project has been
completed, with the aim of utilizing the excess water from the dam's spillway
for the irrigation of agricultural units in the southern Shuna region.
The Wadi Shuaib Dam, operational since 1969, has a storage capacity
of 1.250 million cubic meters.
This project is part of the JVA's efforts to develop water resources and reduce water loss, supported by a grant from the USAID.
