A joint committee in the Jordanian Senate, consisting of the Finance and Economic Committee, chaired by Dr. Rajai Al-Mashar, and the Health, Environment, and Population Committee, chaired by Dr. Yaseen Al-Hasban, approved the Public Statistics Law for the year 2024 on Tuesday. This approval comes after making some minor amendments to the version that was passed by the House of Representatives.

This decision was made during a meeting of the joint committee, which was partly chaired by the Senate President Faisal Al-Fayez, and attended by several senators, the Minister of Justice Dr. Bassam Al-Talhouni, Minister of State Dr. Ahmad Al-Owaidi, Minister of Planning Zeina Touqan, Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs Abdel-Moneim Al-Odat, and the Director of the Department of Statistics Dr. Haider Farihat.
The approval of the committee came after the Senate, in its last general session, referred the two draft laws—the Public Statistics Law and the Agricultural Risk Mitigation Fund Law—back to their relevant committees for further study.
