The joint Lower
House panel approved the bill after it held intensive discussions on a number
of clauses referred from the Senate, with the aim of endorsing legislation
attractive to investors that seeks to simplify procedures for issuing or
renewing licenses, joint committee head
MP Khair Abu Sailik said while chairing
its meeting on Wednesday.
According to a
press statement, the deputies emphasized the importance of developing
legislative amendments that contribute to addressing obstacles that hinder the
GAM’s work and develop strategies to raise its efficiency, lauding the GAM’s
e-transformation drive in the process of executing citizens’ transactions.
With this piece of
legislation, MPs hope to regulate professions within the GAM; identify the
duties, responsibilities, powers within the GAM’s jurisdiction; and to attract
investments.
