The attacks claimed the lives of over 60 individuals and injured dozens, predominantly women and children.
The Ministry described the strikes as a flagrant violation of international law, particularly the 1949 Geneva Convention on the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War. It further criticized the actions as part of a systematic targeting of civilians and shelters for displaced persons in Gaza.
Ministry spokesperson Ambassador Sufyan Al-Qudah reiterated Jordan’s firm condemnation of Israel’s continued breaches of international law and humanitarian principles. He underscored that the lack of a robust international response has emboldened such actions, leading to unprecedented levels of human suffering and destruction in Gaza.
Ambassador Al-Qudah emphasized the urgent need to protect civilians, humanitarian facilities, and essential infrastructure serving the Palestinian population. He called for strict adherence to international legal frameworks to ensure the safety and dignity of affected populations.
He also renewed Jordan’s appeal to the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to fulfill its responsibilities by compelling Israel to cease its aggression in Gaza immediately, and stressed the importance of holding accountable those responsible for ongoing violations of international law and human rights.
