AMMAN — Jordan and
Czechia agreed Tuesday
to cooperate in the fields of energy and mineral resources, the Jordan News
Agency, Petra, reported.

It said a memorandum of understanding, which sets
the stage for the cooperation, was signed in Amman Tuesday by Minister of
Energy and Mineral Resources
Saleh Al-Kharabsheh and Czech Minister of Industry
and Trade Jozef Sikela.
Kharabsheh said in a statement that the memorandum
stipulated cooperation in politics, planning, and energy demand anticipation by
using economic models. He said other objectives include collaboration in
electricity, sustainable energy, and energy efficiency through focusing on energy
rationalization and the exchange of expertise on smart grids.
Both governments
will also cooperate in the fields of industrial minerals, remote sensing
technology, geophysical studies, exchange of expertise in mining, and
conducting technical studies to evaluate and explore minerals, Kharabsheh
added.
Discussions took place in a meeting attended by the
Czech ambassador in Amman, Joseph Kotski, and several Czech officials.
