Al-Rawashdeh
confirmed that Jordan is fully prepared for the electrical connection, with the
remaining procedures related to the Iraqi side.
Last month,
Iraqi authorities announced the completion of the
electrical connection project with Jordan. An Iraqi source suggested that Jordan would begin supplying
electricity to Iraq early this month.
According
to the agreement between the two countries, Iraq will initially receive
one-third of the agreed-upon
electrical capacity in the first phase.
Al-Rawashdeh explained that the supply capacity will reach 50 megawatts to the
western region, out of a total of 150 megawatts in this phase, which will later
be supplied to other areas.
The project
will grow to 500 megawatts in the second phase and 900 megawatts during the
third phase.
