A structured approach is being laid down where JMI will orchestrate leadership elections, ensuring continuous support and technical guidance. Furthermore, JMI will be pivotal in tracking, documenting, and evaluating the coalition's actions, making certain their efficiency and substantial influence on MIL throughout Jordan.

UNESCO emphasizes the importance of this initiative as a consolidated platform for local institutions and experts in Jordan's media and information literacy domain. This mission aims to synchronize the efforts of various local entities and experts, with a vision to craft a unified database for these institutions and specialists. This ensures seamless collaboration and access in the sphere of media and information literacy in Jordan.

Jordan’s resolve to empower media literacyRami Eleimat, program manager from JMI, said: “This collaborative effort between UNESCO and JMI reflects Jordan's commitment to fostering media and information literacy, thereby empowering its citizens to make informed choices and participate actively in today's rapidly evolving digital landscape.”.

The initiative's launch was marked by a gathering of around 30 participants, many expressing support for the combined efforts aimed at elevating media and information literacy nationally.

Reem Al Zou'bi, associate professor at the college of educational sciences at Al-Bayt University, and a participant in the coalition launch, commented: “Media and information literacy involves understanding different viewpoints and sources of information. A coalition can bring together various stakeholders, such as educators, media professionals, and civil society groups, to offer diverse perspectives and expertise”.

Yousef Abu Rumman, a journalist, and MIL trainer remarked: “In an era where information is pivotal, this coalition epitomizes Jordan's resolve to empower its citizens. Together, we can counter misinformation and pave the way for a more informed society.”
