Safadi and Eide discussed Jordan-Norway ties and keenness to enhance cooperation to strengthen regional stability and security.

Safadi valued Norway's decision to recognise Palestine based on the two-state solution, Security Council resolutions and international legitimacy, praising the country for supporting the Palestinian economy through its chairmanship of the liaison committee dedicated to coordinating international aid provided to the Palestinian people (AHLC).

Safadi called for an "immediate" end to the Israeli war on Gaza, warning of the danger of its continuation and the devastating effects of the humanitarian catastrophe it is causing, urging the implementation of Security Council Resolution No. 2735.

Safadi called for ending "illegal" Israeli measures in the occupied West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem, accusing the Israeli authorities of undermining the two-state solution.

The top diplomats discussed the Urgent Humanitarian Response Conference for Gaza, hosted by Jordan.

In turn, Eide stressed Norway's position calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the need for Israel to adhere to international law and international humanitarian law and lift all obstacles to the delivery of humanitarian aid into Gaza.

He said Norway supports the two-state solution and the need to move effectively to implement it, noting Jordan's role in upholding regional security and stability and settling the Palestinian question based on the two-state solution.
