Ayman Safadi and Jordan’s army chief
held separate meetings with a visiting delegation from the Norwegian
parliament’s Enlarged Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defense.

The core reason for
Sunday’s talks is to advance bilateral ties and discuss regional developments,
the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Safadi asserted
Jordan’s strong partnership with Norway in his meeting with the delegation on
Sunday. He cited the recent development of bilateral ties and consistent
coordination on regional and global issues.
They discussed a
number of regional and global issues, including the Palestinian cause, the
Syrian crisis, the refugee situation, and the fight against terrorism.
Safadi thanked
Norway for its assistance to UNRWA, emphasizing the need for the agency to
continue providing vital services to Palestinian refugees.
He also praised
Norway’s role as chair of the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee, which coordinates
international aid to Palestinians and the Palestinian Authority.
The delegation
commended the progress of relations between Jordan and Norway as well as
Jordan’s crucial role in promoting security, stability, and hosting refugees.
Earlier, Chairman
of the
Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti received the Norwegian
delegation. The two sides discussed prospects of cooperation and means of
enhancing bilateral ties to serve the interest of the two countries’ armed
forces, Petra said in another dispatch.
