Amman - The Higher Council for Science and Technology (HCST), participated in the 46th regular session of the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils, recently held in Baghdad.

The session addressed a range of key scientific and administrative issues. Performance reports for the year, including scientific, administrative, and financial achievements, were reviewed and approved.
Heads of research project teams presented updates under the Arab Research and Innovation Co-Funded Alliances. Additionally, the HCST approved the executive work plan for 2025–2027, signaling a commitment to strategic planning in regional scientific endeavors.
Secretary-General of the HCST Mashhour Rifai delivered an overview of the Council, highlighting its pivotal role as a hub for universities and research centers.
He introduced a new project focused on identifying scientific research priorities for the next decade, emphasizing its potential to enhance collaboration and networking among Arab countries.
Rifai also proposed the creation of an Arab platform to unite research centers and researchers across the region. He advocated for regular evaluations of specialized scientific associations and suggested integrating efforts in critical fields such as energy, water, food, and the environment to maximize regional impact.
