Amman - Jordan took part in the second meeting focused on establishing a joint Arab electricity market aimed at facilitating electrical interconnection among Arab countries.اضافة اعلان

The meeting, which was held at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo on Tuesday, brought together key energy officials to discuss the framework and mechanisms needed to enhance energy cooperation across the region.

The Jordanian delegation was led by Amani Al-Azzam, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. Accompanying her were Sufian Al-Batainah, Director General of the National Electric Power Company (NEPCO), and Ahmad Al-Dahni, Assistant Director General of Planning at NEPCO.

According to a statement on Wednesday, the discussions at the meeting centered on the electrical interconnection project between Jordan and Saudi Arabia. The meeting, chaired by Minister Plenipotentiary Jamila Matir, Director of the Energy Department at the Arab League, included representatives from both countries, highlighting the significant progress made in this bilateral initiative.

The electrical interconnection between Jordan and Saudi Arabia is considered a cornerstone for energy exchange in the region. It is seen as an exemplary model for similar projects among Arab nations, offering a robust framework for enhancing energy security and economic efficiency.
