Jordan ranked 5th among Arab countries and 49th globally in the Government AI Readiness Index 2024, out of 188 countries, compared to 55th among 193 countries in 2023.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship on Wednesday, Jordan outperformed Bahrain, Egypt, and Kuwait in this year's report, which was prepared by Oxford Insights.
The ministry noted that this progress reflects the Jordanian government's efforts, led by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, to enhance Jordan's regional and global standing in the field of artificial intelligence.
The report highlighted several pioneering initiatives, including a project using AI to predict electrical loads, which the government is implementing. This project plays a crucial role in improving the efficiency of Jordan's energy grid, reducing reliance on traditional energy reserves, and accelerating the transition to renewable energy sources through the use of AI.
