According to a statement from the Ministry of Water and Irrigation on Thursday, Secretary-General of the Jordan Valley Authority, Hisham Haisa, led a specialized session titled "From Satellites to Fields: Innovations Supporting Water Managers and Farmers." He showcased Jordan's latest advancements in using modern technology to support water operators and farmers.

The session highlighted the achievements of the WaPOR project, a collaboration between the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education.

Funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the project partners with government institutions across the Middle East and North Africa, including the Jordan Valley Authority.

Haisa emphasized how innovative tools, integrating remote sensing and ground data, are enhancing water and agricultural management across the region.

One notable presentation focused on the Irrigation Performance Assessment Tool for the Northern Jordan Valley, developed through the WaPOR project, which highlighted advancements in assessing irrigation efficiency and agricultural productivity.
