Amman - The Jordan Valley Authority will refer individuals who illegally extracted water from the King Abdullah Canal to the Public Prosecution on Tuesday. These actions violate Article 31/B of the Jordan Valley Development Law No. 19 of 1988 and its amendments.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Water and Irrigation on Monday, Hisham Haisa, Secretary-General of the Jordan Valley Authority, emphasized that these measures are part of efforts to combat illegal activities targeting water facilities and sources, underscoring that the law provides strict penalties for such offenses.
Haisa highlighted ongoing efforts to expand the judicial police's authority and delegate relevant employees to curb these violations, protect water sources and facilities, and ensure legal actions are taken against offenders. He affirmed the commitment to holding perpetrators accountable and preventing future attacks.
