Amman - Jordan has welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire in Lebanon, mediated by the United States and France, calling it a crucial development that must pave the way for broader international efforts to address escalating tensions in the region.

The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs emphasized the urgent need to halt the ongoing aggression in Gaza and the Israeli violations in the occupied West Bank.
Ministry spokesperson Ambassador Sufian Qudah reaffirmed Jordan’s steadfast support for Lebanon’s stability, sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens.
He called for the full implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, stressing the importance of empowering Lebanese national institutions, reconstructing infrastructure damaged by the conflict, and providing Lebanon with necessary economic assistance.
Qudah further highlighted the imperative of ending Israeli military aggression in Gaza, describing it as a critical first step toward reducing regional tensions that threaten international peace and security.
He also underlined the importance of ensuring the continuous and adequate delivery of humanitarian aid to all parts of the Gaza Strip.
