AMMAN
– On Wednesday, the Jordanian Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister
Bisher Al-Khasawneh, approved the transport sector strategy for the years 2024-2028.

The
strategy aims to develop a comprehensive framework for planning the transport
sector to achieve a
comprehensive and sustainable transport system that is in line with the
Economic Modernization Vision (EMV) and its executive program for the years
2023-2025.
It
also aligns with the transformations in the
transport sector, addresses the
challenges it faces, and enhances
its efficiency and contribution to economic activity.
Moreover,
the Cabinet also discussed several other issues regarding the Kingdom.
It
moved to approve the recommendations to settle pending issues between the
taxpayers and the Ministry of Finance Income and Sales Tax Department, to
settle the tax situation for 252 companies and taxpayers who have obligations
under the Income Tax Law and the
General Sales Tax Law.
Additionally,
it approved to review the pending claims between the taxpayers and/or violators
and the
Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), to settle 7 cases for taxpayers
and violators provided that they commit to paying the full remaining amounts
owed by them, along with any fees, taxes, or expenses, in addition to the
punitive fines, within two months from the date of issuance of this decision.
Meanwhile,
the Cabinet decided to form the Board of Directors of the Jordan News Agency,
Petra, under the chairmanship of the Minister of Government Communication, and
the membership of the Director-General of the Jordan News Agency, Petra,
Mohammad Mufdi Al-Muaqqabah, Awni Awad Al-Dawood, Hani Ahmad Al-Badri, Rana
Marwan Dabbas, and a representative of the Jordanian Journalists Syndicate to
be named by the Syndicate Council.
