The cost of sewage projects is very expensive and
needs almost twice the cost of water projects, Salameh added.
Jordan is the second or third country in the region
to provide sanitation services, according to Salameh, who noted that the
ministry will implement a large number of sanitation projects in large areas of
the Kingdom next year.
Salameh said that the ministry conducted several
project related to sewage water, and that Jordan spent JD5 billion in the past
10 years on the water sector and the expansion of the sewage services.
He explained that the least expensive sewage plant needs
between JD40 to 50 million, rather than networks that need double this figure.
He said the ministry relies heavily on grants to implement sewage projects.
