During the meeting with Norwegian delegation, Faraya called
on Norway’s support to Jordan in dealing with the Syrian refugee crisis,
including assistance for refugee camps and host communities, as well as
building infrastructure for communities and developing national programs and
projects.
Despite the limited capabilities of the Kingdom, Jordan
handled the responsibility of hosting Syrian refugees, even though the country
was only offered six percent of the funding required for to build a steady
response plan, stated the minister.
He continued to stress on the need for direct governmental
and non-governmental organizations in Norway to support by guaranteeing a
response to the growing needs of refugees in camps and host communities.
During the meeting, Faraya invited Norwegian investors to
come visit the country and take a look firsthand at the current environment and
governmental incentives provided under the Kingdom’s economic reform scheme for
the next ten years.
In a response, Enger affirmed that her country is keen to
strengthen bilateral relations with Jordan, and praised the Kingdom for its
political and economic reforms in hosting Syrian refugees in light of economic
difficulties.
