On Wednesday, the organizations signed a
memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at stimulating tourism traffic and reducing airfares
through the utilization of low-cost airlines, thereby promoting joint tourism
activities, the Jordan News Agency, Petra reported.
The MoU was formally signed by Suhail Helsa, Chairman of
JSTA, and Omar Riahi, head of the delegation and representative of
Tunisian tourism companies. Helsa expressed his enthusiasm for the agreement, stating
that it represents a positive step towards encouraging tourism and supporting
economic and social relations between Jordan and Tunisia.
The memorandum seeks to establish coordination for regular
flights to Jordan via
low-cost carriers, taking into account Tunisia's
strategic geographical location and its diverse tourism and natural
attractions. The goal is to leverage these advantages to attract more visitors
from both countries.
Riahi emphasized Tunisia's eagerness to forge stronger
cooperation in the tourism sector across all areas by fostering additional
joint partnerships. He believes that such collaborations will provide a fresh
impetus to the Arab and international tourism landscape.
Mona Mathlouthi, the Director General of
Tunisia's International Cooperation Department, echoed the sentiment, expressing her
country's commitment to enhancing cooperation with Jordan and striving for the
highest levels of collaboration.
She envisions this partnership as a pathway to realizing a
vibrant and successful Arab experience in the tourism field.
