During
a Cabinet meeting,
Khasawneh emphasized the importance of taking the necessary
steps to address the potential inflationary effects of developments in the Red
Sea, such as implementing the decision to impose a customs ceiling on the value
of containers imported at their current price before
October 7, 2023, until
Ramadan ends.
He
further stated that conversations at the
World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos
revealed how highly respected His Majesty the King's complete political,
economic, and administrative reform agenda is by various worldwide communities.
Khasawneh
said that the
International Monetary Fund (IMF), international financial
institutions, and donors praised Jordan’s financial, monetary, and economic
policies and reforms and expressed their support for the self-originated
structural reform measures that Jordan is undertaking.
The
meetings also demonstrated a remarkable international appreciation for Jordan's
positions and efforts on the need to immediately halt Israeli aggression on
Gaza, provide sustainable humanitarian aid, and move toward a political horizon
that embodies the two-state solution and the establishment of an
independent Palestinian state on June 4, 1967, with its capital in East Jerusalem.
