The move comes in line with the vision of His Majesty the King, who led intensive efforts to find effective ways to deliver aid to the Gaza Strip. In addition to land convoys, which suffer from significant access difficulties, airdrops have been the best option to bypass obstacles and circumvent the difficult security situation. In a high-level meeting after weeks of heavy Israeli bombardment, the plan to carry out this groundbreaking move was approved by Jordan.
According to a documentary aired by the local TV channel, Almamlaka, on Monday evening, the airdrops were characterized not only as a way to deliver aid, but also to strengthen the resilience of Gazans suffering from severe food and medicine shortages. UN estimates showed that certain areas in Gaza were a candidate for imminent famine, so the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) - Arab Army came to be their support in that difficult phase.
Speakers in the documentary said: "However, carrying out such operations was not easy and required complex military and logistical coordination. His Majesty showed great determination to plan these operations even in the midst of a critical security situation. The landing sites were carefully selected, and the decision was made to focus on areas close to population centers to facilitate the delivery of aid."
The report added that His Majesty's direct supervision of the air operations was a symbol of JAF's effective management and professionalism, which was always ready to take risks in order to deliver aid. The appropriate points to drop food and medicine were identified according to the basic needs of the people of Gaza, with the focus on items with high nutritional value.
