AMMAN — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates on
Thursday condemned Israeli authorities for approving the construction of new
settler units in occupied Palestinian territories.
Ministry spokesperson Daifallah Al-Fayez said in a statement
that the move is “absolutely rejected,” adding that it constitutes a breach of
international law and UN Security Council resolutions.
He stressed that Israeli settlement policies are “illegitimate,
illegal, and a roadblock of efforts to restore calm and achieve comprehensive
and just peace, as well as to the chances of a two-state solution, according to
the statement.
