AMMAN
— The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the continuation of
Israeli violations at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, according to Al-Ghad news.

The
latest violation involved allowing a large number of extremist settlers to
storm the mosque under the protection of Israeli police during a Jewish
holiday, in addition to allowing extremists to continue to impede the work of
the employees of the Jerusalem Endowment Department and the affairs of Al-Aqsa
Mosque in Jordan.
The
official spokesman for the ministry, Haitham Abu Alfoul, said that the ministry
on Tuesday sent note of protest, calling on Israel to stop its violations and
provocations and to respect the historical and legal status of the mosque, in
addition to the authority of the Jerusalem Endowment Administration.
These violations
are condemned under international law and international humanitarian law, the
official spokesman added.
He
also stressed that the Al-Aqsa Mosque is a place of worship for
Muslims, and the Jerusalem Endowment Administration in Jordan is the legal authority with exclusive jurisdiction to manage all the
affairs of the mosque and to regulate entry and exit from it.
