Speaking at the inaugural MedVision
conference organized by a group of innovative young doctors, Zoubi highlighted
that the union currently boasts around 44,000 registered doctors, with
approximately 20,000 students enrolled in medical studies domestically and a
similar number pursuing their education abroad.
He underscored the forthcoming
challenge posed by the influx of new doctors expected over the next five years,
a number equivalent to the total registered in the union over the past seventy
years, presenting a significant hurdle for both the union and the profession at
large, Khaberni reported.
Zoubi outlined the union's efforts
to explore new employment avenues for doctors, particularly in European
countries, leveraging the Kingdom's diplomatic channels and engagement with
targeted nations.
Furthermore, he revealed that around
14 doctors had their union memberships revoked due to financial inability to
fulfill obligations. Zoubi assured that robust solutions are being pursued to
safeguard the union's retirement fund, with ongoing analysis of the actuarial
study conducted in collaboration with Social Security.
