Jordan decries Israeli army raid of Gaza hospital
Amman - Jordan Saturday condemned in the strongest possible terms Israel's "systematic and barbaric" attacks on health facilities in the Gaza Strip, the latest of which was the storming of Kamal Adwan Hospital in the north of the occupied enclave.اضافة اعلان

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said the targeting of hospitals is a violation of international law and international humanitarian law, particularly the 1949 Geneva Convention on the protection of civilians in time of War, holding Israel responsible for the safety of civilians and medical crews.

Targeting Kamal Adwan Hospital and its medical staff is a dangerous escalation in the destruction of vital facilities that are necessary for the population to stay in northern Gaza, and a determination to target civilian objects in Gaza and systematically destroy civilian facilities that provide basic services to Gazans, he said.

Such attacks, he stressed, are war crimes under international law, and reflect the futility of the brutal aggression on Gaza and its people with the perpetuation of a policy of collective punishment and deliberate exacerbation of the humanitarian crisis in the strip, especially in the north, with the aim of displacing residents from their homes.

The spokesman stressed the need for the international community, namely the UN Security Council, to take legal and moral responsibility to compel Israel to halt the ongoing aggression and targeting of civilians in Gaza, end the humanitarian catastrophe, provide protection to the Palestinians and stop crimes and violations of international law, international humanitarian law and the decisions of the International Court of Justice.
