AMMAN — Minister of Tourism and
Antiquities Nayef Al-Fayez said on Tuesday that Jordan will exceed the target
number of visitors for 2022, as it is expecting 3.4 million people by the end
of the year, who will contribute some JD2.9 billion to the economy, Al-Mamlaka
TV reported.

Fayez said that income from tourism is likely to
return to its 2019 levels by the end of 2023, a year earlier than forecast in
the National Tourism Strategy.
The world marked World Tourism Day on September 27.
Recent Central Bank of Jordan data showed that tourism income increased during
the month of August by JD263.4 million over the same month last year, or 82.4
percent, to reach JD583.1 million.
Fayez stressed that the Ministry of Tourism is
exerting more effort to boost domestic tourism, through the Urduna Jannah
program, which is a year-long undertaking.
Fayez also said that a campaign marketing Jordan abroad will
be conducted soon.
