In a press conference with government
spokesman,
Muhannad Al Mubaidin, Hneifat reviewed the most important
achievements of the Ministry of Agriculture in 2023 and its most prominent
plans for the upcoming year.
He said that
Jordan is trying to establish a government institutional framework for
marketing, which is the
Jordanian-Palestinian Agricultural Products Marketing Company (JPACO) in partnership with the Palestinians.
He added that Jordan supports the land and
water rights of Palestinian farmers. Hneifat mentioned that Jordan exported
about 2,000 tons of water last year, expecting to produce about 10,000 tonnes
this year.
Hneifat mentioned that Jordan seeks to expand
in this field, revealing that there will be packing centers in either the
Jordan Valley or the Shafa Badran area. He also added that he will work on a
qualitative leap in marketing and cooperate with the private sector to
remove all obstacles hindering the movement of exports to traditional markets.
